Jewelry

Beginning Precious Metal Clay…making silver jewelry the easy way—In this class we will cover the basics of working with precious metal clay. This is a clay made of silver particles in a binder,. This clay can be manipulated, shaped, textured, etc, that when fired will leave you with a piece of .999 fine silver. We will use this clay to make fine pieces of jewelry such as pins, pendants, rings, beads or small sculptures. The basic techniques for this material will be covered, including tools, assembly, kiln schedules, firing and finishing. This class will be a precursor to a class next semester on adding glass and gems to your PMC pieces.
